This introductory class will offer an overview of canonical texts from different fields of gender studies (musicology/performing arts studies, social history, deconstruction/queer theory, situated knowledge/new materialism, intersectionality/subaltern studies). We will discuss their transdisciplinary interfaces as well as their potential relevance for the actual PhD projects in the making. Additional suggestions linked to the research interests of the participants are very welcome. We will also make time for project presentations and questions on how to train one’s writing skills. |
