Die Funktion einer/eines Beauftragten für Bildungskooperation in Serbien, Dienstort Belgrad, gelangt ehest möglich zur Nachbesetzung.
Aufgabenbereich: Management von Großprojekten im schulischen Bereich in Zusammenarbeit mit lokalen, österreichischen und internationalen Bildungsinstitutionen. Organisatorische Abwicklung vor Ort in Absprache mit dem Verein KulturKontakt Austria.
Inhaltliche Schwerpunkte:
Berufsbildung, v.a. im Bereich Tourismus- und Wirtschaftsausbildung, Qualitätssicherung
Voraussetzungen:
a) Abschluss eines Universitätsstudiums (insbes. Lehramt für höhere Schulen)
b) Projektmanagement- und Organisationserfahrung
c) Kenntnisse über das österreichische Bildungswesen
d) Auslandserfahrung, nach Möglichkeit in der Region
e) verhandlungsfähiges Englisch, Grundkenntnisse der Landessprache
f) Fähigkeit zu eigenverantwortlichem und selbstständigem Handeln; Organisationstalent; Flexibilität; Leistungsbereitschaft; interkulturelle Sensibilität sowie Erfahrung im Konfliktmanagement.
Einsatzbedingungen:
Vorgesehen ist eine einjährige Mindestverwendungsdauer mit Verlängerungsmöglichkeit. Grundsätzlich wird die Bereitschaft zu einem vierjährigen Auslandsaufenthalt erwartet. Das Kooperationsmodell wird in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Verein Kulturkontakt Austria realisiert (www.kulturkontakt.or.at).

The Austrian-American Educational Commission (Fulbright Commission) and the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota are pleased to request applications for a visiting professorship for an Austrian scholar at the University of Minnesota for the academic year 2008-2009. The Fulbright Visiting Professor for 2008-2009 will be affiliated with the Center for Austrian Studies, an interdisciplinary and interdepartmental research facility for Austrian, Habsburg, and Central European studies established in 1977 as a bicentennial gift of the people and government of Austria to the United States, and the Department of Art History in the College of Liberal Arts.
This collaboration is based on a memorandum of understanding concluded by the Austrian Fulbright Commission and the College of Liberal Arts in 2001 and renewed in 2004. This visiting professorship was conceived to rotate among departments in the College of Liberal Arts affiliated with the Center of Austrian Studies.
Description
The Department of Art History at the University of Minnesota invites applications from scholars who are actively carrying out research on the art and architecture of Vienna. The applicant's scholarly expertise should lie within the historical period of 1848 to 1918 (from the 1848 revolution to the dissolution of the monarchy), and may focus on, but is not limited to, the Viennese Secession, the Wiener Werkstätte, and the Jugendstil, and such figures as Gustav Klimt, Egon Schiele, Oskar Kokoschka, or Josef Hoffmann. More important than any specific subject area are innovative research and broad historical and theoretical interests. The Fulbright Visiting Professor will teach one advanced undergraduate/graduate seminar during the semester in residence, either in fall 2008 or spring 2009. The course will be offered by the Department of Art History and will be cross-listed with the Department of German, Scandinavian, and Dutch (and, potentially, with the History Department). In addition, the Fulbright Visiting Professor will be expected to advise graduate students seeking expertise in the visitor's field of specialization, and to deliver two public lectures (topics to be discussed) under the auspices of the Center for Austrian Studies and the Department of Art History. This appointment will provide the Fulbright Visiting Professor with ample opportunities for research.
Benefits
This is a jointly sponsored four-month grant. The Austrian Fulbright Commission will provide grantees with a maintenance grant of $10,000, a health and accident insurance policy with a maximum coverage of $50,000, and a lump-sum travel grant of € 800. Grantees will receive a letter of appointment from the University of Minnesota, a gross salary of $8,000 for teaching, and a University subsidy for housing as well as assistance in identifying housing. The University of Minnesota will place customary facilities for visiting faculty (office access, telephone, e-mail, internet) at the disposal of grantees.
Eligibility
Austrian citizens are eligible to apply. Applications from qualified junior as well as senior faculty from all accredited universities and post-secondary institutions are welcome. Applications from art historians working in museums will also be considered. All applicants should hold a doctorate and, ideally, at least five years experience teaching at the university/post-secondary level.
